At 5 months of age, Trent and Tina Stroup’s daughter, Adelyn was diagnosed with Aicardi Syndrome, a rare disease effecting the brain which causes seizures and major developmental delays.
At this time, Aicardi is very rare with many diverse outcomes. Research is only at the beginning stages. The Stroup Family has made it a personal mission to create the Indoor Triathlon event Tri To Help™ to benefit the research of Epilepsy at centers across the nation.
At this time, most of the proceeds raised at this event are going to The Johns Hopkins Pediatric Epilepsy Center.
The Center has been leading the clinical efforts for the comprehensive care of children with epilepsy and their families. Over the years, this outstanding center has had a major impact on the treatment of seizures in children, on major surgeries, and on the overall care of neurologically challenged children.
